Success, Modeling, and Mentorship

Coach Adams from www.makingbestbetter.com here with my final thoughts on Russia and Coach Barakov...

I love St. Petersburg. What an amazing city. Full of life, character, culture, amazing people and many Masters!

As I'm leaving St. Petersburg I can only smile and reflect on the amazing journey I've had here. To be in the midst of so many Masters is stimulating and yet can be overwhelming if you let it.

However, I love being in the midst of masters because I know that my personal success has come from learning from the very best!

You see, I believe that if you are going to learn something you MUST learn from the very best. If you are going to take the time to acquire a new skill then you must learn the proper way of doing it first before you begin to reinforce an improper motor pattern or neural pathway.

It takes so much longer to relearn something than it does to learn it correctly from scratch.

That's why when I'm looking to learn something new I seek out the very best results producing coaches, scientists, researchers, businessmen, entrepreneurs, and practitioners in the world and I go and learn from them. Why would I waste my time trying to reinvent the wheel when I can go straight to the source and drink from the fountain?

By learning from the best I guarantee you will take years off your journey to success!

That's why I'm here learning from Coach Alex Barakov...I'm not here to learn about Sambo, I'm here to learn about life!  Although he is a master in the art of Sambo he is so much more of a master of life...

This is what I've been doing for years.

Let me explain...

I went from a brand new college assistant strength coach to a head strength and conditioning coach in the NFL in less than 5 years by using this very same concept.

Here's the readers digest version...

I had an opportunity to go back to my Alma Mater to be a Professor and Coach at the United States Air Force Academy.  For the first two years I was teaching in the Physical Education department and helping on a part time basis in the weight room.

I loved coaching so I decided to get another Masters degree.  I choose to get it at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs because they had a relationship with the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.  And most of the professors worked at the Training Center.  Some of the best and brightest minds in the United States were my professors and as a bonus I had the opportunity to do several interships at the Training Center.

In addition, I traveled the world finding the most accomplished and successful coaches, scientists, psychologists, and practitioners to learn from and to be my mentors.  These individuals allowed me to take years off my coaching success.

I'm not sharing this with you to boast or brag...I'm sharing because if I can do it you can too!

It's truly because I am standing on the shoulders of those that went before me that I have been able to accelerate my progress in my choosen endeavors.

And you can too... to learn how, go to Business Athlete Coaching Program click here.

Remember...Success is not by Chance it's by Choice!
